NBN® TC4

What is it?

nbn® TC4 is a standard Internet service that uses multiple technologies including Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Basement (FTTB), Fibre to the Node (FTTN), Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), Fixed Wireless (FW) and Sky Muster™ and delivers asymmetrical bandwidth with “best effort” contention for non-vital business applications such us email, streaming and browsing.

What you need to know when shifting to nbn® TC4

  • nbn® TC4 uses multiple access technologies to deliver connectivity therefore the quality and and reliability of the service is determined by the access technology available at a location
  • Speeds are Asymmetrical download and upload speeds that are considered “best effort” and not guaranteed
  • As a home-grade service it’s highly contended- businesses and home users on the same network are impacted during peak times
  • Since it is a home-grade service, access to nbn®’s business support team is not included by default
