How to fix iphone water damage without rice where cannot turn off or on and screen not working
(firstly I thought the picture to be appropriate considering this true story)
You might laugh at me but I was having a nanny nap with my son, and as I was drifting off, I went to put the phone on his bedside table.
I realized that the table should have been lower than where my hand stopped and then fully waking and realizing, I was putting the phone into a fish tank.
Being so tired, I put the phone down and didn’t even turn it off. (which that should be the first thing you do with water damage).
When I woke in the morning it would not turn on (even though about 80% battery left) – there was still water dripping out of power and sound buttons (not good!)
Plugged in the power and turned on but kept rebooting so I quickly powered back off.
Stuck the phone in rice for a few hours and still no good. Even got a heat gun over the phone.
This is where it went well and this is 12 hours after the incident. I then proceeded to get an air compressor and blow out any water I could (without pulling apart).
The touch screen become a little responsive but started rebooting again. I even had MORE water marks and streaks on the LCD between the touchscreen and LCD (internal)
Now this is the fix for a water damaged iPhone which might even work on Android/Samsung but not tested.
I could get the water dried, it wasn’t a hot day either. So I placed the phone on the dashboard of the car, closed all windows and got the phone as hot as possible.
After a couple of hours I went to the car and tried turning it on…. Guess what – it said TEMPERATURE TOO HOT… I thought good, lets leave it there for most of the day.
Went back 4 hours later, not only did it turn on, the screen was working perfect and even better, all the water streaks were gone. Its just like the new screen I paid $200 for 2 weeks ago on teh same phone.
Hopefully this will help someone else.
(PS I am extremely careful with my phones, and in 3 years, two incidents in two weeks… Argh!)

Finally Apple updated the IOS 8.2 and bluetooth is now working in Mazda Vehicles. If you have another brand tested, please leave in comments. Thank you

If you are the owner of a Mazda and an Apple iPhone, good change you will have issues trying to call with your iPhone and it connecting to the bluetooth. There is a way around this by selecting speaker and when person picks up, select on the phone the bluetooth. DANGEROUS!
Hands-free are suppose to be SAFE and Mazda/Apple have not worked together to keep this safe.
There are hundreds of forums discussing this but it seems that the problem is iOS8 as even with an iPhone 5 with iOS7 there is no issues but as soon as that phone or other phones are upgraded to iOS 8 the problem starts.
After months of frustration and reading forums, we have found the solution (or the answer) on the Mazda website.
Mazda’s response is as follows:

How to Block Porn on iOS 7 for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch – Adult Filter
Business’, Parents and users looking to block porn on the iPhone and iPad should be first in line to update to iOS 7.
Apple includes enhanced parental controls on iOS 7 including an iPad and iPhone porn block feature that can restrict the ability of users to access websites with adult material.
Like any internet filter, this iPhone porn block feature isn’t going to be perfect, but in our tests the iOS 7 porn filter did a good job of preventing access to questionable websites.
This is a free feature in iOS 7 and it is at the system level so it can block porn and other adult themed websites throughout the device without requiring the user to use a specific browser.
The iPhone porn block feature is new in iOS 7.
In our testing, the iPhone porn block mode even carries over to Google Chrome on the iPhone, so kids and users can’t just download a new browser to get around this.
First off you will need to update to iOS 7 to use the Adult Web Filtering feature. This is a new feature in iOS 7, and it is a free update.
When you have iOS 7 installed the following steps will get you to the point where you can block adult material on the iPhone and iPad.
Settings -> General -> Enable Restrictions -> Websites -> Limit Adult Content
This will prompt you to enter a pass code, and you should make it one that is different from the user’s unlock code, or they can turn it on and off at will. When prompted create a secret code that the user will not know.
Parental controls in iOS 7 let users block porn on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
To turn off the iPhone porn blocking feature in iOS 7, enter the pass code and turn restrictions off. If the pass code is locked you may need to reset the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Because no Internet filter is perfect, the parent or administrator can manually block and allow certain websites always. Enter these in the settings menu, or enter the pass code when browsing to add an attempted address to the list.
